Concierge Home Care is the only agency that utilizes the Botes Memory Method as an innovative approach to Dementia care. At many senior living facilities across the state, the Bouquet Method is used as a practical roadmap to allow us to connect with our loved ones. We can now enter into our person’s reality in a way that is supportive and minimizes behavioral outbursts, and stress.

For example: At the Lily level we can expect to have normal conversations, but have some relapses in recalling the content of our conversation. At the Daisy level we can have a normal conversation but our loved one most likely will not remember details of our conversation – we need to provide reminders using visual cues/calendars, and simplified written notes. At the Violet level conversations becomes more concrete and sometimes nonsensical. We should focus on the here and now, and enter into our person’s reality without questioning motives or content of verbalization of our loved one. Let them lead us with their interaction. This person will not remember our conversation BUT they will remember how we made them feel. At the Rose level verbal communication is strained, and minimalistic. This person may be able to answer simple yes and no questions. Best approach is face to face interaction, limiting verbal statements to the here and now, while using concrete objects to direct conversation but do not expect a response. The final level is end stage dementia or the Bouquet level. Our person is no longer able to communicate or answer questions. Our person is now dependent on us to read their body language, and to explain to them in a simple way, what is happening in their surroundings.
