Mid- year resolutions should be a thing!

How many of us that has loved ones living with Alzheimer’s/dementia or care for these persons, have an underlying fear that this may happen to us?

Recently, there has been so much more evidence that supporting our brain health can prevent us from getting Alzheimer’s and related Dementias in the first place (Or at the very least, stall the progression). This is The Good News!

A few tips for boosting your brain health is following the Cleveland Institute’s 6 Pillars of Brain Health strategy.

Three of the best and easiest to implement are:

  • Taking control of our exercise routine (30 min a day for 5 days)
  • Including anti-oxidants in our daily diet (even through teas, supplements, healthy oils such as coconut oil/fish oil/avocado oil, nuts, leavy greens, coffee, 70% or higher cocoa content in chocolate, and berries)
  • Focusing on improving our sleep schedule and routine, to optimize rest and restoration.

It seems simple enough, right?

But if we do not prioritize and strategize our efforts to claim our brain health daily, we will lose the battle of maintaining and preventing cognitive decline!
