Spring is in the air! A time to celebrate Mother Nature and all the benefits of spending time outdoors. Did you know that your brain health is dependent on the release of neurotransmitters: Oxytocin, Endorphins, Serotonin and Dopamine?

All of these play an integral role in our mood and ability to connect with our environment. Spending time outdoors for about 30 minutes a day, either walking or jogging or cycling or swimming, and getting some sun at the same time, will not only stimulate Serotonin but also release Endorphins and promote Vit D!

Serotonin helps to stabilize our mood and Endorphins helps to manage pain! Both of these hormones contribute to a good night of sleep, and may help to combat sundowning.

Let’s celebrate this beautiful time of year and improve our brain health at the same time!
